If you sign up for a one year billing cycle, then you can receive a discount on your subscription charge.

Credit card rates

Shopify charges you a small fee to allow you to accept major credit cards, such as Visa and Mastercard, as payment in your store. You don't pay any fees to the credit card payment provider itself. These fees vary for online and Shopify POS due to the security and risk of taking a payment online versus taking a payment in person.

Credit card rates vary depending on the plan that you choose.

As a result of Brexit, Visa and Mastercard have changed how they classify and charge for UK & EU transactions. To comply with these changes, Shopify classifies these transactions as international, and you're charged at the current international rate for your region.

Third-party transaction fees

Third-party transaction fees are charges that apply to each transaction when you use a third-party payment provider to take customer payments. The transaction fees cover the cost for Shopify to integrate with external payment providers, and vary depending on the plan that you choose.

When you useShopify Payments, you aren't charged third-party transaction fees for orders that are processed through Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, Shop Pay Installments, and Paypal Express, and you aren't charged transaction fees on manual payment methods such as cash, cash on delivery (COD), and bank transfers.
