About the role
We give high growth, high volume merchants the scalability, reliability, and flexibility they need. Shopify is helping power commerce for companies like GymShark, Staples, Spotify, Huel, Vorwerk and many more. We believe large merchants should love their commerce platform and we work hard each day to make that happen. We are in hyper-growth, and this is where you come in.
To accelerate our growth, we’re searching for exceptional sales representatives to help our existing Shopify merchants to grow and scale their revenue with the help of our retail product suite. Your mission will be to help merchants identify their omni-channel commerce goals and make the right choices for their business to succeed.
You’ll be working on things like:
- Understanding the unique business goals, needs, and pains of prospects, and helping them grow their business with Shopify Retail products
- Directing complex deals with multiple stakeholders through an entire sales cycle, from discovery through to contract negotiations
- Uncovering new business opportunities
- Effectively moving your way through the sales cycle managing your pipeline
- Collaborating on projects within the team and region with other Shopify teams to deliver the highest level of merchant experience
- Making the most of the opportunity to work at an amazing, innovative, and rapidly growing company; have an impact; be involved and do something incredible!
Qualifications
- Based in the United Kingdom or Ireland
- Fluency in English and German
- 2-5 years of full sales cycle experience in a technology/software environment with high complexity
- Ability to create and execute an outbound territory plan and prospecting strategy, including cold outreach
- Proven history of acquiring net new customers
- High energy and strong work ethic driving towards meeting or exceeding the teams and individual goals
- The ability to work in a self-directed manner navigating through a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
- A passion for talking to people, curiosity for understanding their unique business needs, and showing them how to 10X their business
- Excellent relationship, communication, and influence skills
- A love for trying new things, iterating, and then diving in again
- A sense of adventure and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Consultative and solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to learn and collaborate with a team remotely
- A retail background is a bonus

Ben joined Shopify as a frontline Support Advisor with no background in programming or computer science. He’s now a Director of Engineering. Spanning 10 jobs on 7 teams in 9 years, Ben’s Shopify career path has twisted and turned as he’s worked relentlessly to pursue a career as an engineer and adapted to the pace of change—all fuelled by personal and professional hypergrowth.
