About the role
As the Senior Lead, Analytics & Automation, you will work cross-functionally with all Commercial teams to oversee the governance of marketing data, our marketing funnels, campaign processes, marketing project management, planning & target setting, and performance reporting that keeps our marketing and GTM teams moving quickly.
Reporting into the Director, Demand Marketing, you are a strategic thought leader for both the marketing discipline and our global commercial business. Your analytical background enables you to quickly grasp the nuances of Shopify’s products and business models, and translate disparate information into meaningful insights. You collaborate seamlessly across commercial functions, creating structure amongst chaos and designing actionable solutions that meet a diverse set of commercial needs. You are an innovative leader who has a track record of building high performing teams and who can inspire and guide the Marketing team to think 10X.
What you’ll get to work on:
- Building and growing high performing teams across multiple sub-disciplines
- In collaboration with Marketing and Commercial leaders, champion the development and execution of our global GTM plan
- Champion the delivery of goal setting & measurement frameworks across Marketing including: OKRs, reporting management processes and strategy development processes
- Oversee full funnel marketing performance reporting and insights in collaboration with Revenue and Partner Operations
- Collaborate with Data science to build and steward our global marketing tech stack, and govern our complex marketing funnel including: lead scoring, lead routing, data management, etc.
- Provide strategic decision support to our Executive team and senior marketing leadership team

- Work with senior marketing and commercial leadership to tackle both marketing and cross functional strategic challenges and opportunities
- Lead, inspire and help uplevel our fast growing global marketing organization
Qualifications
You'll need to have:
- A background in market strategy and/or operations leadership
- Experience in a tech or complex environment working with a sales team
- The ability to tell compelling, persuasive, data-driven stories at an executive level
- A track record of being able to ingest and analyze multiple inputs and develop a strategic perspective on broad issues across the business
- Experience building / supporting / overseeing systems and infrastructure to support a complex sales funnel, including lead scoring and lead routing
- Effectively partner and influence executive level stakeholders from multiple disciplines
- Have a strong grasp of how competitive and market forces impact decision making for businesses in real life
- Thrive in an ambiguous and ever changing environment
- The ability to think big and also be equally resourceful and innovative in bringing your ideas to fruition
- Embrace failure, and do things you might not be good at or have never done before
