Passkeys are a more secure replacement for passwords. They allow you to log in to an account without entering a password, but are safer and more efficient than a password. Using passkeys removes the possibility of forgetting and needing to reset a password, or entering the wrong password and becoming locked out of your account.
Using a passkey can help you avoid phishing scams, as well as having your password stolen.
You can add a passkey using any authentication method that you use to unlock your device, such as a fingerprint or face recognition, or a device PIN.
Passkeys can be synced across devices that are logged into the same platform. For example, if you create a passkey using an iPhone, then you can access the same passkey on your other Apple devices via iCloud. You can also use the same passkey on another platform byscanning a QR Code.
From your Shopify admin, click your profile >Manage account.

UnderPasskeys, clickCreate a passkey.
Authenticate by using any available authentication method that you use to unlock your device.
After a passkey is created, it's added under thePasskeyssection. In this section, you can check which passkeys are available across your devices. If a passkey marked asSynced across devices, then it's automatically available on other devices that are logged into the same platform. If a passkey is marked asDevice only, then it's only available on that device.
Click the passkey icon in the email field to open an autofill dialog box.
Click the saved passkey that you want to use. If you're prompted, then use your touch ID.
Use your email address
Enter your email address and clickContinue with email.
ClickLog in with passkeyand select the passkey you that want to use. If you're prompted, then use your touch ID.
Use a passkey from another device
On your device, attempt to log in with a passkey.
From your browser prompt, clickUse passkey from device with a camera, or similar, then follow the onscreen instructions to display a QR code on the screen.
Using your mobile device where your passkey is stored, scan the QR code.
After logging in with another device, we suggest creating another passkey for your desktop to log in faster with passkeys.
Delete a passkey
From your Shopify admin, click your profile >Manage account.

UnderPasskeys, clickRemovebeside the passkey that you want to remove.
Authenticate by entering your Shopify account password, and clickRemove.
