Bank account requirements for Shopify Payments

Only certain types of bank accounts are eligible to receive payouts from Shopify Payments.

To be eligible, a bank account must be a checking account or current account that can receive transfers and is eligible to receive payouts in a currency that Shopify supports for your country.

Checking accounts that are set up to accept only wire transfers don't work with Shopify Payments. Savings accounts, flex-currency accounts, virtual accounts, and money-transferring services that mimic bank accounts aren't supported by Shopify Payments.

To confirm that your account can accept the transfer type listed for your region, contact your bank.

Bank account requirements by country

Depending on where your business is located, there might be additional bank account requirements for Shopify Payments. The bank account must have the corresponding transfer type and currencies required for your country.

  • Eligible for SEPA transfers
Belgium

  • Eligible for SEPA transfers
Canada
  • CAD or USD bank account
  • Eligible for ACH transfers
Czechia
  • A bank account that matches one of the following:
    • EUR bank account with an IBAN beginning with any of the following prefixes: AT, BE, CH, DE, DK, EE, ES, FI, FR, GB, GI, IE, IT, LU, NL, NO, PT, SE
    • CZK bank account located in Czechia
  • Eligible for SEPA transfers
