Getting started

If you're approved, and after setting up your Shopify Credit account, then you'll receive a virtual card that you can use immediately. Eligibility for Shopify Credit is based on your business performance, not your credit score.

To find out if you're eligible to apply for Shopify Credit,check your Shopify admin.

If you're eligible, then you canapply for Shopify Credit.

Shopify Credit requirements

To use Shopify Credit, you need to meet the following minimum requirements:

• AShopify Paymentsaccount is required to use Shopify Credit.
• Shopify Credit uses the same bank account or Shopify Balance account that you've connected to Shopify Payments. If you need to change the account that you use with Shopify Credit, thenchange the bank account that you use with Shopify Payments.
• Your Shopify Payments account must have a single owner.
• You only have one store owner for your business. Multi-owner businesses can’t apply for Shopify Credit.

• A valid US Social Security number (SSN) is required to set up your Shopify Credit account. Your SSN is used only to verify your identity. Your credit score isn't affected.
• Your store must be located in the United States or Puerto Rico. Other United States territories aren't supported.
• Currently, if you're participating inShopify Capital, then you're not eligible for Shopify Credit.

These requirements are not exhaustive and additional criteria might apply for eligibility.

Apply for Shopify Credit and set up your account

If you're eligible to apply for Shopify Credit, then you need to submit an application for approval before you can open your account and gain access to your credit line.

Apply for Shopify Credit

1. From your Shopify admin, go toFinances>Credit.
2. ClickApply now.
3. Review your personal information to ensure that it's correct, and then clickVerify.
4. Enter your SSN, and then clickConfirm.
5. Carefully review the agreements.
6. ClickSubmit application.

After you submit your application, if approved, your Shopify Credit account and virtual business card are created. To access your account and start using your card, finish setting up your account.

Complete account setup

1. From your Shopify admin, go toFinances>Credit.
2. Review whether you have2SAactivated for your account. 2SA is required to access all the features of Shopify Credit, so if you aren't already using 2SA, then clickSet up two-step authentication.
3. Review and understand how payments are debited and review your connected bank account information. This is the same bank account connected to your Shopify Payments account.
4. Optional: Add your virtual business card number to your mobile wallet. If you want to skip this step, then clickSkip this task.
   1. ClickView card numbersto reveal your card's number, expiry date, and CVV.
   2. Add your card information to your mobile wallet.
5. Optional: Order a physical Shopify Credit business card. If you want to skip this step, then clickSkip this task.
   1. Enter your shipping information.
   2. ClickOrder physical card.
6. ClickFinish setup.
