POS embedded apps

You can add features to your Shopify POS by installing embedded apps. These apps run in Shopify POS and let you customize your in-store checkout in a few different ways:

• streamline purchases by adding combos or packages with a single tap

• offer sophisticated sales (like “buy one, get one free”, free gifts, and timed discounts), wholesale pricing, and other promotions in-store

• add new payment methods, loyalty programs, and custom receipt printing at checkout.

Most POS embedded apps run only in Shopify POS — they won't affect transactions through your online store or through other activesales channels.

Install POS embedded apps

You can find all available POS embedded apps in the Shopify App Store on thePOS collectionpage.

Steps:

1. From your Shopify admin, clickSettings>Apps and sales channels.

2. ClickCustomize your store.

3. From the Shopify App Store, clickCollections, and then selectWorks with Shopify POS.

4. When you find an app that you want to install, clickAdd appto install it.

Any installed POS embedded apps can be found by tapping the main menu >Settings>All apps.

Access embedded apps in Shopify POS

All apps, including those used after a transaction is complete (such as receipt printing), can be found by tapping the main menu, thenSettings>All apps.

Apps that you add to the smart grid can be accessed from the cart. Most apps automatically respond to what has been added to the cart, so the smart grid lets you check them quickly. Apps in the smart grid can also display relevant information for your staff to use when selling. Examples of this include loyalty points with loyalty apps, or discounts with discount apps.

Some product recommendation apps can also appear as buttons on your customer details or product details pages. Product recommendation apps use online and in-person order data to provide product recommendations based on a customer's profile or related product information.

Edit an embedded app's settings

To view or to change the settings of the POS embedded apps that you've installed:

1. From Shopify POS, tap≡>Settings>All apps.

2. Tap the icon of an available app to read a description of what it does or change its settings.

Yes. Any staff who has access to your Shopify POS can use available embedded apps.

How can I delete POS embedded apps?
You can delete embedded apps from the Apps page in your Shopify admin.

Will I be charged for using POS embedded apps? How am I billed?
As with all apps in the Shopify App Store, some POS embedded apps are free and others aren't. Check the Shopify App Store listing for each app that you install to see if there are any charges associated with it.
